5 Tips to stay Healthy in summer

In summer the various types of disease like Sunburn, Fever, Heatstroke, Diarrhoea, Typhoid, Jaundice, Chickenpox, Measles, etc. spread easily during the favorable weather conditions for bacteria, virus and other parasites to breed. If you find any of these symptoms or feeling physically unwell from a long time then must consult to physician or visit to your nearby multispecialty hospital for a checkup. Early detection helps you to heal faster and helps you to keep healthy.

With blazing sun, summer brings fatigue, sweat, skin problems and make your body more vulnerable to various disease as mentioned earlier.  So to avoid this, change your routine suitable to weather change and adopt some healthy habits to stay fit in encroaching summer. Few cities in Maharashtra especially Vidarbha region, like Chandrapur, Nagpur notified as High alert due to its high temperature. Even some cases of death noted here due to sunstroke. In such adverse weather, it is necessary to take care of your health to stay fit and active. Here are few simple health tips are mentioned which helps you to stay healthy in summer:

  1. Eat healthy and light :

In summer eat frequently a light snack, it helps you to maintain your energy level and will stop you from overeating. Prefer the item having high water content to keep your body hydrated. Avoid outside and junk food, as in summer the bacterial growth is too fast which may cause food infections. Also avoid oily food and heavy meal, as it takes more time to digest and raise heat level in the body.

Keep yourself hydrated:

In summer the process of dehydration is too fast, so drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated. Always carry water bottle whenever you go outside. Consume more vegetables, fresh fruits, raw salads, juices, coconut water to maintain the water level in your body.

  1. Avoid direct exposure to the sun:

Try to schedule your outdoor activities in the early morning before 11 AM or in the evening after 5 PM. If you can’t avoid going outside in noon time or in peak temperature hours then try to protect your eyes, face and other body parts from penetrating sun rays. Wear dark-shade goggles to protect your eyes, cover your face with a scarf, use a hat with a brim rather than the plain cap to cover your head, prefer cotton clothes as it easily absorbs the sweat, and avoid black color clothing as it absorbs more heat. Apply sunscreen frequently & with good SPF whenever you go outside.

  1. Apply Sunscreen:

Use sunscreen after every 3 to 4 hours on the bare part of the body to protect your skin from screaming sunrays. Exfoliate dry skin before bath and apply moisturizer to keep your skin soft and smooth.

  1. Eat Plenty of fresh fruits and protein:

Proper intake of fruits gives your body best nourishing vitamins. Also, it’s beneficial for your skin hydration. Eat fruits and vegetable having a high content of water like – watermelon, muskmelon, coconut water, oranges, cucumber, apple, etc. Increase consumption of sprouts, nuts, cheese and other high protein items in your diet. It helps you to stay fresh and active.

Imply these simple habits in your daily schedule to prevent your health from various diseases in summer.
